Here she is donning the smallest hospital gown they had. The gown was the quickest and easiest thing to take on and off with the IV. At one point in the night she had the gown completely over her head and her legs coming out of the crib's bars. The weekend was then wrapped up with the big two day garage sale at my parents. In the words of my mom's UPS man the day of the sale..."I think I'd rather go to the dentist twice than have a garage sale!" This pretty much sums it up!

At the park...
"Don't worry Mom...we're just holding hands."
"How do you get these Cheerios out of the sack?"
"This baggie doesn't taste near as good as the stuff inside!"

Just a thought...
Read it and see what you think.
This is an excerpt out of Pioneer Woman's blog . I was going to try to paraphrase what she was saying, but couldn't do it justice. http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/2009/05/snap-out-of-it/
Snap Out of It!May. 12, 2009

I’m not a very bossy person. Well, okay. In the car I am bossy.
But in general I don’t tell people what they should do.
But I think I’ve found my calling.
I feel called to tell you to…get in the picture!
Forget your foolish pride and just jump in the frame.
Our parents died when I was 16. Our mom died within a year of taking this picture with my sister, Janet.
It is my very favorite picture of her. (sorry the picture wasn't pasted.)
This picture brings me so much joy, I can not tell you. I have it on the refrigerator and look at it every day.
I do not know if I have a picture of myself with my mom.
But I do have a picture of myself with my dad. (once again not pasted)
There we are. Me and my dad and my sister Cindy. So, so long ago. It was 1973 and we were on vacation in Maui. Haleakala Crater. Look how handsome our dad was! I see my son Matthew in him.
I am so thankful for these pictures.
It doesn’t matter how you do it.
It only matters that you do it!
Today I want to urge you to get over your shyness and pride and get in the picture!
I wish, wish, wish I had more pictures of me with our children. It is one of my few regrets.
So here’s the deal…
1. In five years you will look five years older….you WILL look young in the pictures you take today!
2. Ten years ago I thought I was fat. Oh my goodness….I should have taken pictures THEN.
3. Your children look at you all day long. THEY know what you look like. They won’t care how you look in the picture.
I really don’t like how I look in pictures. It pains me. I still want to look like I did when I was 25 years old. And really I’m shocked that I don’t.
But seriously. My children love me just the way I am. Chins and all.
Consider this your call to action!
You can do it. I know you can. If I can, you can!
Let your light shine. You will never regret it!
Encourage one another,Miz Booshay
Come and visit...we're available!
Here we are Mother's Day morning at church . Mary Katherine had her baby dedication. I wanted to add a picture and thought this was a great one--minus the fact that my face is washed out and my entire body looks swollen, MK has such a pleasant look on her face, and Roger's white forehead is beaming.
All kidding aside, baby dedication was important to us as it was our public commitment to raise MK in a Christian home and hopefully guide her in a way that will lead her to knowing Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. We were to share a life verse that we've chosen for Mary Katherine. Roger and I narrowed it down to three verses and really struggled with what we felt was most important. We decided on Mark 12:30-31.
"AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH". The second is this, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
In talking, we felt it boiled down to this, If you are loving the Lord with your entire being then the rest should follow. Also, these were direct words from Jesus and he said that these were the greatest commandments.

A dad and his daughter...
Friday, May 1, 2009
...and continued again (we've been busy!)
...more bubbles
...rolling around playing with toys. This seems to be the way we've decided to get around for now.
and some good ol' laughing! Check out those teeth--yes, they have done some biting on mom lately. Not fun!
continued...
...a lot of talking and new faces. "Yeah, I turned 8 months. So what?"
...extended reaching (but no crawling)
...beginnings of clapping (maybe??? Grandma's been working on this.)
What the Teal girls have been up to...
...posing for mom under the porch on the rainy days.
...started a garden inside, then moved it outside last week
we're still waiting on the verdict of how successful we will be.
